ADULT MINISTRIES
We have a wide range of ministries to help meet the needs of adults. We know you have a busy lifestyle, but the spiritual need to learn more about what it means to become a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ still exists. If you are looking for help with a particular need in your life or just want to connect with other people, check out these options:
- Women's Ministries - Highland Park's women seek to become women of God in knowledge, in prayer, and in deed. There are ladies' Bible studies in a small group format with discussion and prayer time and an opportunity to connect and get to know each other better.
- Men's Ministries - The mission of Men's Ministry is dedicated to igniting men to be passionate followers of Jesus Christ through fellowship, ministry/fellowship, and maturity/discipleship. We offer accountability and discipleship groups on Thursday mornings as well as numerous other actiivites throughout the year.
- Singles - We have an outstanding group of singles and singles with children. They have frequent fellowship activities and their own Sunday morning group to go deep into the Word of God.
- Seniors - Our seniors are very active. There are monthly senior trips, Young 'N Heart meetings with special speakers and music, chair aerobics classes to get you physically fit and wonderful fellowship to enjoy.
- Small Groups - Small groups are simply a group of individuals or couples, in similar stages of life, who meet together on a regular basis, study the Bible, and build relationships. Becoming involved in a small group will connect you to others and help you grow in your relationship with God. Small groups meet at many different places and times. No two small groups are alike!
- Celebrate Recovery - A ministry for fellowship and to celebrate God´s healing power in our lives through the "8 Recovery Principles." This experience allows us to "be changed." We open the door by sharing our experiences, strengths, and hopes with one another. In addition, we become willing to accept God´s grace in solving our lives´ problems. By working and applying these biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually. We become free from our addictive, compulsive, and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy, and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others. As we progress through the program we discover our personal, loving, and forgiving Higher Power - Jesus Christ, the one and only true Higher Power. Celebrate Recovery meets every Friday night at 7:00 p.m.
- Sunday Morning Groups - Sunday morning groups are an important part of discipleship and spiritual growth at Highland Park. It is in these Sunday groups that you can connect with others in a class setting. There are Sunday morning groups for all ages and backgrounds. Whether you are single, married, young, or young at heart, there is a Sunday morning group for you.
- Evangelism - is one of our five purposes at Highland Park. We place great emphasis on reaching those who have not accepted Christ through methods such as Evangelism Explosion, Fresh Start class, and prayer.
- Prayer - Prayer Partners are part of a vast network of praying men and women. They pray for particular needs within the church, emergency issues, pastoral staff, and needs around the world.
- One-on-One Discipleship - Once a person becomes a Christian, discipleship is one of the most important ingredients to growing in spirit and faith. One-on-One Discipleship helps mentor new Christians so they can become fully devoted followers of Christ.
- Divorce - Divorce is an extremely stressful time for a family. Dealing with feelings and emotions in the aftermath of divorce can be devasting if not properly addressed. Highland Park offers Divorce Recovery classes to help recover from the effects of divorce.
- Financial - Managing money God's way will change your life. We believe that everyone should be good stewards of their money, and we offer classes through Crown Financial Ministries to train people how to manage money through biblical principles.
- Grief - We have support groups as well as annual seminars on how to deal with the loss of someone dear. You will find support and learn how to deal with grief in a healthy way.
- Recreation - Whether your interest is motorcycles, basketball, co-ed volleyball, or softball, our recreation ministry has a place for you to have fun. This is a great way to connect with others and make new friends.
- Food - Our Food Service Ministry is one of our favorite avenues to help others. Everyone loves a good meal, and our food service team delivers mouth-watering delights with a side of Christ's love. If you enjoy hospitality and the culinary arts, this is the place for you.
- Music - Are you musically inclined? Do you sing, play an instrument, or love drama? We have a place to plug you in! Our worship arts department and technical and creative ministry is ever-expanding, and we would love for you to join us!
- Missions - We believe in going out into the world to share God's love and help those who need it most. The Nazarene Church is very involved in local and world missions where we share Christ as well as food, clothing, medical care, and other necessities with those who need it.
- Mission Possible - Mission Possible is an organization in downtown Lakeland that feeds and clothes the homeless of Lakeland. The mission strives to bring hope to those who are helpless.
- Compassionate Care - We are committed to assisting those in our local community and church who need a little extra help with food and other necessities when circumstances take a turn for the worst. We help families in need at Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, and back-to-school time with items they might not be able to otherwise afford.
